Step by step flow diagram

We are utilising the worlds most advanced technology that allows us to offer our patients the best dentures available. The digital denture process has been developed to eliminate material inaccuracies while also providing the most advanced CAD/CAM functions to allow precise tooth placement and personalized, natural cosmetics. This results in maximum quality, comfort, fit and the perfect smile for you.

See the below step by step flow diagram of the full process behind the scenes of creating your outstanding denture!

SCANNING

In the clinic, we will take the initial impressions of your  mouth and measure the bite position. Instead of pouring the impressions to make a model of the mouth, the impression and bite position is scanned, creating a detailed 3D digital model which retains 100% accuracy.

DESIGNING

Once the preliminary impressions and measurements are taken, we discuss your cosmetic requirements. We then use the most advanced and sophisticated computer program to design your personalised denture - there is no need to settle for a standard tooth shape or size because each individual tooth can be designed to create a unique and personalised style. The tools and functions available in the CAD software allow for the most precise placement of each tooth to provide absolute balance during use, with each individual tooth applying the exact same bite pressure throughout the complete denture.

PROTOTYPE DENTURE

The design is then used to create a 3D printed prototype that you can try in the mouth and assess the cosmetics, fit and bite.

We recommend you take the prototype home and look at the cosmetics in private and obtain the opinions of others as well. If you are 100% happy with the prototype we will manufacture the final denture. If not, we will discuss any proposed improvements and design another prototype for your approval. This is a critical stage and we will not proceed to the final denture until you are 100% happy for us to do so.

MANUFACTURING

The design goes to our computerised milling machine where each component of the denture is meticulously milled from the denture material. This denture material has been manufactured to provide outstanding strength and quality. With this technique, there is no shrinkage, distortion or inconsistencies - the denture turns out precisely as designed.

STRONG AND DURABLE

The material used for our CAD/CAM dentures has been specifically engineered for this purpose using precise high temperature and pressure, which results in an extremely strong and durable final denture.

UNSURPASSED COSMETICS

LakeView Dental Laboratory`s digital dentures involve a CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacture) workflow that puts the laboratory in full control of quality and cosmetics.

The tools and functions available in the CAD software allow each tooth to be created from the ground up. No need to settle for a conventional prefabricated tooth shape and size. We can design and shape each individual tooth to suit the patient’s mouth and facial features – the options are limitless.

FIT AND FUNCTION

The functions of the CAD software allow us to measure the precise bite pressure applied to each individual tooth by simulating the chewing action and adjusting each tooth to ensure precise balance in function is achieved.

The fit and function of digital dentures is unrivaled compared to traditional dentures made from conventional techniques and materials. This is because of the accumulation of the dimensional changes in the materials used during the conventional denture making process that create inaccuracies in the final denture.

For instance, with traditional dentures, when the impression is poured to make a model, the plaster will shrink by a small amount. Then, when the denture is made and processed, the acrylic and wax will usually shrink by at least 5 %. If you add all these dimensional changes, even when each phase has been performed precisely, those variables add up and affect the accuracy and function of the final denture.

Because the digital denture process eliminates the material's dimensional changes, the final fit is optimal.
